Chandi ka bhav Delhi mein: shops in Dariba Kalan, Karol Bagh and the malls all start from the same national metal price, so the per-kg number on this page is the base. What really changes from shop to shop is the making charge, the purity (999 or 925) and the buy-back terms, so compare the final price per gram including 3% GST, not just the board rate.
Old Delhi has been a silver market for centuries: Dariba Kalan, off Chandni Chowk, is known for silver jewellery, anklets and traditional designs, and the lanes around Kinari Bazaar sell silver wedding and puja items. Karol Bagh and South Delhi showrooms sell branded 925 jewellery and 999 coins.
Delhi shops usually quote silver per kg (for bars and coins) and price jewellery per gram plus a making charge. Old Delhi wholesalers can be competitive on making charges for plain pieces; branded 925 jewellery in malls has fixed prices.
The metal rate is the same; the difference is the making charge and the brand. Plain pieces in Old Delhi often carry lower making charges, while branded 925 jewellery in malls has fixed printed prices. Compare the total per gram including GST.
It is one of the oldest silver jewellery streets in the city, with many shops close together, which makes comparing making charges easy. Ask for the purity (999 or 925) and the weight on the bill, and a GST invoice.
The per-kg rate is for fine (999) silver metal. Jewellery is often 925 and carries a making charge per gram or per piece, plus 3% GST, so its price per gram is well above the metal rate.
Bhavflow’s silver rate is a national benchmark for 999 fine silver (international price, USD–INR, import duty and an estimated domestic premium calibrated to IBJA benchmark rates), excluding GST. Jewellers and retail sites usually quote above this benchmark (making, margin, local premium), and 3% GST is added on the bill. Bhavflow does not show a retail price, because it differs from shop to shop.
Chandi ka bhav aaj ka, today’s silver rate, is at the top of this page: Bhavflow’s national indicative rate for 999 silver per kg and per 10 grams, excluding GST and making charges. The IBJA silver 999 benchmark (AM and PM) is shown next to it for comparison.
