Chandi ka bhav Mumbai mein: Zaveri Bazaar dealers follow the bullion market through the day, so the rate for 999 bars and coins can move between morning and evening, while suburban jewellers usually change their board once or twice a day. For bars and coins, ask for the premium over the day's rate; for jewellery, ask for the making charge per gram.
Mumbai’s Zaveri Bazaar in Kalbadevi is the country’s best-known bullion market for silver as well as gold: dealers sell 999 silver bars and coins, and manufacturers and retailers sell silver jewellery, utensils and puja articles. Suburban showrooms sell branded 925 jewellery.
Because bullion trades in Mumbai, local silver dealers tend to quote close to the IBJA silver benchmark, which is shown on this page next to Bhavflow’s rate. Bars and coins carry a small premium over the metal rate; jewellery carries making charges.
Many Zaveri Bazaar dealers and local jewellers buy old silver. They test the purity, pay on the fine-silver weight at close to the day's rate minus a small deduction, and may ask for ID. Get two or three quotes and ask how the purity was tested.
Usually, because the bullion market is here. IBJA publishes silver 999 per kg twice a day, excluding GST; Bhavflow calculates its own national rate from international prices, so the two are close but not identical.
Purity (999), weight, the refiner’s or seller’s mark, tamper-proof packing and a GST invoice. When selling back, expect the buyer to deduct a little from the rate.
Bhavflow’s silver rate is a national benchmark for 999 fine silver (international price, USD–INR, import duty and an estimated domestic premium calibrated to IBJA benchmark rates), excluding GST. Jewellers and retail sites usually quote above this benchmark (making, margin, local premium), and 3% GST is added on the bill. Bhavflow does not show a retail price, because it differs from shop to shop.
Chandi ka bhav aaj ka, today’s silver rate, is at the top of this page: Bhavflow’s national indicative rate for 999 silver per kg and per 10 grams, excluding GST and making charges. The IBJA silver 999 benchmark (AM and PM) is shown next to it for comparison.
