24K (999) is Bhavflow’s base rate: ₹13,838 per gram today.
22K = 24K rate × 22 ÷ 24: ₹13,838 × 22/24 = ₹12,685 per gram (91.67% gold; the hallmark reads 22K916).
18K = 24K rate × 18 ÷ 24: ₹13,838 × 18/24 = ₹10,379 per gram (75% gold; the hallmark reads 18K750).
24 carat gold is 24 parts gold out of 24, written as 999: at least 99.9% pure. It is the base of every gold rate in India; 22K and 18K rates are worked out from it by purity. Because pure gold is soft, 24K is sold mainly as coins and bars, with low making charges compared with jewellery.
The first card at the top of this page shows Bhavflow’s indicative national 24K (999) rate per 10 grams and per gram, with the time of the last update; the table below it shows 1 g, 8 g, 10 g, 12 g and 100 g. The rate excludes 3% GST and making charges.
24 carat sone ka bhav aaj (today’s 24K gold rate) is at the top of this page, per 10 grams and per gram, at Bhavflow’s national indicative rate excluding GST and making charges.
24K gold is 99.9% pure. It is soft, so it is used mainly for coins and bars rather than jewellery. Most Indian jewellery is 22K (916); diamond and gem-set pieces are often 18K (750).
International spot gold (XAU) in US dollars per troy ounce is converted to rupees per gram at the day’s USD–INR rate, then Indian import duty and an estimated domestic premium are added. The inputs used today are listed under “What moves this rate”. GST (3%) is not included.
The longer ranges use the Reserve Bank of India’s monthly average price of standard gold (995) in Mumbai, not Bhavflow’s daily rate, so they are smoother and sit slightly below a 999 rate. The source is named under the chart.
No. 3% GST is added on the bill when you buy gold coins, bars or jewellery in India, and jewellers add making charges on jewellery.
