Bhavflow publishes one national indicative rate. A Delhi jeweller’s board rate can be slightly higher or lower because of local association or bullion-dealer rates, transport and insurance costs, and the shop’s own margin; making charges and 3% GST come on top.
Since GST arrived in 2017, the tax on gold is the same 3% in every state, so differences between Delhi shops and the national rate come mainly from the day's bullion premium in Delhi, the cost of transport and insurance from bullion dealers, and each jeweller's own margin.
Prices in the neighbouring NCR cities (Gurugram, Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad) are usually very close to Delhi’s for the same reasons.
Delhi's jewellery trade runs from the centuries-old lanes of Chandni Chowk to large showrooms in Karol Bagh and South Delhi. Most shops display a daily board rate for 24K and 22K gold, usually quoted per 10 grams, as is common across North India.
Delhi’s traditional jewellery trade is centred on Old Delhi, where Dariba Kalan off Chandni Chowk has been a jewellers’ street for centuries, and on Karol Bagh, one of the city’s busiest retail jewellery districts. National chains have large showrooms in South Delhi and across the NCR. Most shops display a daily board rate per 10 grams for 24K and 22K gold.
BIS-recognised Assaying & Hallmarking Centres (AHCs) operate in Delhi, including around Chandni Chowk and Karol Bagh. A hallmarked piece carries the BIS logo, the purity (for example 22K916) and a 6-digit alphanumeric HUID. For an independent check, any recognised AHC will test a consumer’s jewellery for a fee; BIS publishes the current list of centres with addresses.
Demand peaks around Dhanteras and Diwali, on Akshaya Tritiya and through the winter wedding season, when markets are crowded and some shops offer discounts on making charges. Karva Chauth also brings jewellery gifting. The gold price itself follows the international market, not the festival calendar.
Compare the full bill, not just the board rate: net weight × rate, plus making charges, plus 3% GST. Check the HUID in the BIS CARE app before you pay, ask for a GST invoice that lists weight, purity and HUID, and get the shop’s buyback and exchange terms in writing.

Usually very close. GST is the same 3% across India, so any gap comes from each jeweller’s margin and the local bullion premium, not from state taxes.
Around Dhanteras and Diwali, Akshaya Tritiya and the winter wedding season. The gold price does not follow the calendar, but crowds and waiting times do, so weekdays outside these peaks are easier for comparing quotes.
The answer is at the top of this page: Bhavflow’s indicative rate for 22K, 24K and 18K gold per 10 grams (per gram in small type) and silver per kg, with the time of the last update, excluding GST and making charges. A Delhi jeweller’s board rate can be slightly different, and the IBJA benchmark is shown next to it for comparison.
Sone ka bhav aaj, today’s gold rate, is at the top of this page: Bhavflow’s national indicative rate for 22K, 24K and 18K gold per 10 grams and per gram, and chandi ka bhav aaj ka (today’s silver rate) per kg, all excluding GST and making charges. The IBJA benchmark (AM and PM) is shown next to it for comparison.
No. Bhavflow publishes one national indicative rate, calculated from international prices, and shows it on every city page. Jewellers in Delhi may quote slightly different rates because of local association or bullion-dealer rates, transport and insurance costs and their own margins, and they add making charges and 3% GST.
