Bhavflow publishes one national indicative rate. A Vadodara jeweller’s board rate can be slightly higher or lower because of local association or bullion-dealer rates, transport and insurance costs, and the shop’s own margin; making charges and 3% GST come on top.
As in Ahmedabad and Surat, many families in Vadodara buy gold on Pushya Nakshatra before Diwali and on Dhanteras. The rate is set by the market, not the festival; what changes is the crowd and the advance bookings.
Vadodara’s older jewellery shops are in the walled city around Mandvi and Raopura, the historic core of the former Baroda state, while newer showrooms line Alkapuri, Race Course and the western suburbs.
More detail on purity and pricing: 22 carat gold rate and price guide.
Usually very close: GST is 3% across India and both cities follow the same bullion market. Differences come from each jeweller’s margin and making charges.
18K (750) gold is harder than 22K, so it holds diamonds and stones more securely. Check for 18K750 and the HUID in the hallmark.
Sone ka bhav aaj, today’s gold rate, is at the top of this page: Bhavflow’s national indicative rate for 22K, 24K and 18K gold per 10 grams and per gram, and chandi ka bhav aaj ka (today’s silver rate) per kg, all excluding GST and making charges. The IBJA benchmark (AM and PM) is shown next to it for comparison.
No. Bhavflow publishes one national indicative rate, calculated from international prices, and shows it on every city page. Jewellers in Vadodara may quote slightly different rates because of local association or bullion-dealer rates, transport and insurance costs and their own margins, and they add making charges and 3% GST.
